Tibetian Trumpet

This trumpet is supposed to be played pairwise only, by monks in buddhist monestaries. My wife brought 2 examples from Tibet, 2 monks went out for her to buy them new (in 1995); normally it is not so easy for westerns to buy new instruments in Tibet. These two trumpets are relatively small, ca.1,8 m high, you can find them much bigger in Tibet. They make a lot of noise, low and loud. Monks play them in rituals, between prayers only, for cleaning the world of bad spirits and to establish a strong connection to earth.
